So, here's the latest. Last Monday (October 6) I got a package from the New Zealand visa processing center. I opened it with great trepidation. And I read the cover letter... and learned that after 3 weeks, my application was being returned because my medical documentation had expired.
See, you have to prove you're healthy. Or at least not leperous. In April, I had a medical checkup, including bloodwork and a chest x-ray. And I was SURE it was acceptable for 6 months. I was wrong. Three months. So, not acceptable.
I now have an appointment next Tuesday to have all of my medical stuff redone. Exam. Bloodwork. Chest x-ray. With lots of passport size photos and signatures from everyone doing every procedure.
And, luckily, the company I'll be working for in New Zealand is being so completely patient and understanding, and are still waiting for me. Makes me so happy, and so anxious to be working for them.
So, yes, I am still in Columbus. Apparently some people think I'm already gone. And folks are "curious" what's happening with Bobby in all of this. Well, here's the scoop. I'm going first. I'm getting settled. And Bobby is hanging back for a few months to "close things up" as needed. And then he'll join me there.
Assuming of course I actually get the visa.
