After weeks and weeks after receiving a job offer; my first visa application being returned because of my medical documentation being too old to be accepted; getting all of my medical documentation redone, including an exam, blood work, urinalysis, and a chest x-ray; reapplying for the work visa; and waiting for three weeks - I learned yesterday that my New Zealand work visa has been approved!
I received my passport back in a FedEx package yesterday afternoon, but there wasn't any letter included, so I assumed it was still in process. Then last night, Aarti, the HR rep at my new employer, called me to congratulate me because THEY had received word that I had been approved. I got home, looked through the passport, and there it was - my shiny new work visa.
I'm still working with Aarti to finalize my start date, but it looks like it will either be January 12th OR the 19th - probably the 19th.
Woo-boy. So much to do between now and then.
